Job summary

Maverick Hotels and Restaurants in Chicago, IL is seeking a Part Time Service Worker to join its kitchen team as a Line Cook. You will assist the Chef and BOH Supervisors, prep and cook items for restaurant outlets, room service, and events.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• At least one year kitchen/prep experience or one year of culinary school required.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily production of restaurant(s), room service and outlet menus.
• Maintains and completes daily prep and cleaning lists and tasks as assigned by BOH Supervisors and Chefs.
• Ensures all requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated areas.
• Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
• Apply basic knife skills required for preparation of hot and cold foods.
• Produce recipes efficiently and consistently.
• Is a team player who maintains a great attitude and works well with fellow teammates.
• Ensures portion control for all food items and follows recipe card cost structure, especially high-cost items.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
