Our Mom’s Restaurant & Bar in Baton Rouge seeks a dependable Line Cook who can prepare and execute menu items with consistency, speed, and attention to detail. This role emphasizes excellent station execution and teamwork during service.

Starting pay is $12 per hour with structured advancement up to $14 per hour. Training milestones determine progression, and the most experienced cooks may handle multiple stations while maintaining recipe accuracy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous line-cook or restaurant-kitchen experience is preferred.
• Ability to stay focused and composed during high-volume service.
• Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and manager direction.
• Willingness to learn additional stations and improve skills over time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
• Maintain consistent portions, plating, presentation, and food quality.
• Set up, stock, organize, and break down the assigned station.
• Execute tickets with urgency while maintaining accuracy.
• Monitor product levels and communicate shortages promptly.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, and FIFO procedures.
• Keep the workstation clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Complete assigned preparation, cleaning, and closing duties.
• Communicate clearly and work cooperatively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
