Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated, owner of Turfway Park Racing & Gaming in Northern Kentucky, seeks a Cook to prepare menu items safely and consistently in a fast-paced environment. You will follow standardized recipes, operate diverse kitchen equipment, and support the team to deliver quality dining experiences.

Responsibilities include reading recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health codes while assisting with front and back-of-house operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalence.
• One-year minimum experience in food preparation preferred.
• Ability to work both front and back line positions.
• Must be able to complete any classes or certifications required.
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.

Responsibilities

• Operate kitchen equipment including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle and griddles.
• Read and follow recipes with accurate measurements.
• Read, write, speak and understand recipes and communicate with Team Members.
• Clean kitchen work areas and equipment; sweep and mop floors.
• Assist with cooking, preparation, dish-up and assembly of menu items.
• Adhere to control procedures for food costs and quality.
• Follow health codes and hand washing guidelines.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu.
