Job summary

Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo - DoubleTree by Hilton is seeking a detail-oriented line cook to join our busy kitchen. You will ensure dishes are cooked and plated per recipes and standards, using poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, sautéing, frying and baking.

The ideal candidate has prior food service experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a hardworking attitude. This full-time role offers $22 per hour with standard kitchen safety and sanitation expectations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service is preferred.
• Must meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage.
• Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic.
• Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Establish a system of food stations and stock them with all of the necessary ingredients for the shift.
• Demonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates.
• Grill, broil or saute menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications.
• Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Recognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste management.
