Job summary

Valley View Casino & Hotel is seeking a Cook I responsible for safely preparing food per standard recipes and menu specs in a fast-paced kitchen. You will maintain cleanliness, operate equipment, and ensure consistent plate presentation while delivering friendly guest service.

Ideal candidates have at least six months in a high-volume kitchen, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to pass health and safety checks. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Cook in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Ability to identify pan types and knife types.
• Proficiency with slicer, mixer, robo coupe, tongs, chef’s knife, bread knife, paring knife, steel, high heat spatula, turner and whisk.
• Knowledge of sanitary practices.
• Working knowledge of weights, measures, and various cooking techniques.
• Possession of basic tools to perform the job duties of a Cook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to standard recipes and menu specifications.
• Maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest concerns.
• Rotate and label products to ensure safety and freshness.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as slicer, steamer, fryer, ovens, grill, and mixers.
• Conduct all duties observing health codes and safety procedures.
• Strive for consistent plate presentation and quality.
