Job summary

Bagatelle in New York City is seeking a Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare and execute menu items with precision, following Bagatelle recipes and presentation standards in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of Line Cook experience, strong knife skills, and the ability to work across multiple stations. NYC DOH requirements apply, and a DH certificate is preferred. Flexible, team-oriented, and committed to quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Line Cook experience in upscale/high-volume settings.
• Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary cooking techniques.
• Proficient knife skills and equipment operation.
• Experience on multiple kitchen stations in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read ticket orders and labels in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; DOH certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Bagatelle recipes, portion specifications, and presentation standards.
• Execute service with consistency, urgency, and high level of food quality.
• Maintain food quality, portion control, and minimize waste.
• Set up and maintain the assigned station, FIFO, labeling and storage.
• Communicate shortages and needs to kitchen leadership.
• Support training and attend mandatory meetings.
