PENN Entertainment in Henderson, NV is seeking a kitchen professional to support a fast-paced dining operation. You will prepare vegetables, meats, and seafood, assemble a variety of menu items, and garnish dishes to specification.

The role requires strong organization, English communication, and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume casino setting. Evening shifts, weekends, and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED; culinary school graduate or specialty training preferred.
• 2 years of experience preparing specialty menu items in a fine dining setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Professional appearance and grooming.
• Works well with team members, other departments, and guests.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables for serving, by washing, peeling, cutting, and placing items in their respective refrigerators.
• Grill, roast, steam, broil vegetables, cook pasta or components for salad preparation.
• Prepare various meats and seafood items, slice cold cuts, bread fish.
• Prepare various menu items and garnish accordingly.
• Prepare dressings following recipes provided.
• Prepare toast, pancakes, and hour d’oeuvres, hot and cold.
• Dish up and garnish desserts such as ice cream, pies, cakes, and fruit cups.
• Conserve waste and utilize all products to lower food cost.
• Operate small kitchen equipment like mixers, slicers, and cutters.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all staff.
• Perform related work as requested.
