Job summary

Toca Madera in Houston is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare food in a timely manner, maintain high quality and presentation, and help minimize waste while upholding food safety standards.

The role requires at least 2 years of prep or line cook experience in a high-volume fine dining setting, night and weekend availability, and the ability to stand for shifts and lift up to 35 lbs. Compensation: to be discussed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years prep or line cook experience in a high volume fine dining setting.
• Strong knowledge in basic cooking, plating, and knife skills.
• Must have night / weekend availability.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of shifts.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and team member.
• Ensure that food is finished simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion, and in compliance with nutrition and sanitation requirements.
• Follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines.
• Know and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
