Great Basin Brewing Company in Minden, NV is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You are passionate about high-quality, well-executed dishes and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As a cook, you will follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, and work with the back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure guest satisfaction. The position requires standing for long periods and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
• ServeSafe Certification or Food Handler’s Certification (or must be willing to attain).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
• Maintain freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, storing items at the proper temperature and rotating stock.
• Ensure all food items are accurately and consistently prepared according to recipes, up to restaurant quality standards, and served in a timely manner.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with chefs, other cooks, and front-of-house team to maintain a positive workplace.
