Job summary

Embassy Suites Houston Downtown is seeking a Cook/Line Cook to prepare and present high-quality meals in a timely, safe manner. You will follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, and support the kitchen team in line stations and opening/closing duties.

Requirements include a culinary degree or equivalent, plus at least 6 months of experience. Current food safety certification (ServSafe) is preferred; TABC/RVSP may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in a similar capacity is beneficial (minimum 6 months).
• Current Food Handler’s certificate or ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of food items using broilers, ovens, grills and fryers.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station and proper setup of stations.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and plate presentation standards.
• Rotates, labels, stores, and handles products properly.
• Assists with food prep during off-peak periods and communicates inventory needs.
• Opens and/or closes the kitchen following the opening/closing checklist.
