Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Houston is seeking a Cook to prepare meals according to recipes and portion standards while controlling food usage to minimize waste. You will maintain a clean, organized kitchen, support Guest Services and Catering teams, and assist with other duties as needed.

The role requires night/weekend/holiday availability, basic reading, writing and math, and a health/food handler card where required.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Some food preparation experience or training preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or health/food handler card as required by local/state law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to recipes and portion standards.
• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen per health standards.
• Assist with other duties and coordinate with departments as needed.
• Work nights, weekends and/or holidays.
