Job summary

Legends Global at Mohegan Arena @ Casey Plaza is seeking a Line Cook to prepare food for suite orders, catering events, and concession items. The role is part-time hourly and reports to the Executive Chef, requiring reliable teamwork and strict adherence to food safety guidelines.

You will design attractive presentations, follow recipes precisely, and adapt to event schedules, including evenings and weekends. Previous venue or banquet experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures.
• Ability to be creative with buffet presentations and produce a quality product with attention to detail.
• Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
• Ability to stand, walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Availability to work hours dictated by events, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Must pass HireRight background check and complete safety trainings.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for preparing food items for all suite orders, catering functions, and possibly some concession items.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fulfill the service per each suite order and Banquet Event Orders (BEO)


• Maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance


• Show creativity in designing food presentations


• Prepare all recipes as directed


• Must take direction well


• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all proper food handling and preparation guidelines as directed


• Performs other duties as assigned

WORK CONTACTS

Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Premium Services Manager, Catering Staff, and other Arena employees

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the supervision of temporary labor staff when applicable

PHYSICAL EFFORT

This position requires stooping, lifting, and substantial standing and walking. Must be able to lift 30 lbs to the shoulder.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works primarily in the main kitchen and possibly in the concession stands within the facility

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess previous experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility preparing meals for large events


• Must possess the knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures


• Must possess the ability to be creative with buffet food presentations and produce a quality product while paying strict attention to detail


• Must possess the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks


• Must possess the ability to stand and walk for substantial periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds up to the shoulder


• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events


• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation


• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively


• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
