Job summary

Legends Global at Mohegan Arena is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in preparing food items for suite orders, catering functions, and concession items as needed. You will work under the Executive Chef in a fast-paced venue kitchen, keeping stations clean and stocked, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

This part-time, hourly role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and adapt to event-driven schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility
• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures
• Ability to produce a quality product with attention to detail
• Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks

FLSA: Part-Time Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for preparing /assisting with preparation of food items for all suite orders, catering functions, and possibly some concession items.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interacting with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards


• Maintaining all kitchen equipment using proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures


• Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe work station, removing trash, etc.


• Following all proper food handling and preparation guidelines as directed


• Maintaining proper food handling procedures


• Preparing the product, as directed, and ensuring that all food warmers are kept full


• Performs other duties as assigned

WORK CONTACTS

Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Premium Services Manager, Catering Staff, and other Arena employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

This position requires stooping, lifting, and substantial standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. to the shoulder.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works primarily in the main kitchen and possibly in the concession stands within the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess previous experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility preparing meals for large events


• Must possess the knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures


• Must possess the ability to produce a quality product while paying strict attention to detail


• Must possess the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks


• Must possess the ability to stand and walk for substantial periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds to the shoulder


• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events


• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation


• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively


• Must complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training


• Must practice safe work habits, follow all security policies, procedures and regulations, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training


• Must pass a HireRight Background Check in accordance with company policy
