Legends Global at Mohegan Arena @ Casey Plaza is seeking a part-time Concession Cook to handle setup, preparation and production of concession items during events. You will manage fryers, grills, maintain stocked stands, follow food safety procedures and support the Food & Beverage team.

The role requires the ability to work a flexible event-based schedule, stand for long periods in a hot environment, lift up to 30 lbs, and pass a background check. EOE and Veterans encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• This role requires basic working knowledge of fryers, flat top grills, and roller grills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a heated area.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

• Reliable transportation to work and back.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the cooks' station(s) and ensures cooking tools are in place.
• Filters and changes cooking oil as needed and disposes of oil properly.
• Completes pre-event food prep as directed.
• Prepares food items and keeps the stand stocked during events.
• Follows all food handling procedures as directed.
• Breaks down stations and cleans tools and equipment after events.
• Removes trash and ensures concession stand floors are clean.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the setup, preparation, and production of concession food items in the concession stands.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up the cooks' station(s) and makes sure that all cooking tools are in place
• Filters and/or changes cooking oil as needed or directed, disposing the spent oil in the appropriate manner
• Completes all pre-event food prep as directed
• Prepares all food items and makes sure the stand is kept stocked with cooked product during the event as business warrants, stocking as business builds while minimizing all spoilage and waste
• Follows all food handling procedures as directed
• Breaks down cooks' station(s), cleans all cooking tools and equipment, returning everything to its place, ready for the next event
• Sweeps and mops concession stand floors and assists with the removal of any trash and cardboard from the concession stand
• Performs other tasks as assigned

WORK CONTACTS:

Event day contact with the Concession Stand Supervisor, Food & Beverage and other Arena Staff, and non -profit group volunteers

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

This position requires stooping, lifting, exposure to heat, substantial standing, walking and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. to the shoulder.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works mainly in the concession stands within the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess basic working knowledge of fryers, flat top grills, and roller grills
• Must possess the ability to stand for extended periods of time working in a heated area and work in an often fast-paced environment
• Must possess the ability to pay close attention to cleanliness and detail
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation
• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete any company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training
• Must pass a HireRight Background Check in compliance with company standards
