Job summary

Legends Global at Mohegan Arena in Casey Plaza seeks a Prep Cook to support suite orders, catering, and concession items as needed.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain a clean, safe workstation, and follow all food handling guidelines. This is a part-time, hourly role with events driving schedule, including evenings and weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for preparing /assisting with preparation of food items for all suite orders, catering functions, and possibly some concession items.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interacting with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards
• Maintaining all kitchen equipment using proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures
• Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe work station, removing trash, etc.
• Following all proper food handling and preparation guidelines as directed
• Maintaining proper food handling procedures
• Preparing the product, as directed, and ensuring that all food warmers are kept full
• Performs other duties as assigned

WORK CONTACTS:

Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Premium Services Manager, Catering Staff, and other Arena employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

This position requires stooping, lifting, and substantial standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. to the shoulder.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works primarily in the main kitchen and possibly in the concession stands within the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess previous experience in a sporting venue or banquet facility preparing meals for large events
• Must possess the knowledge of proper food handling and preparation procedures
• Must possess the ability to produce a quality product while paying strict attention to detail
• Must possess the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
• Must possess the ability to stand and walk for substantial periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds to the shoulder
• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Must complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training
• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
• Must pass a HireRight Background Check in accordance with company policy
