Job summary

Mountain Lake Lodge is hiring for experienced kitchen workers such as prep cooks, line cooks, and dessert specialists. The lodge offers growth potential and excellent pay in a scenic resort setting in SW Virginia.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety standards.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30–50 lbs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to lodge recipes and standards.
• Set up and stock assigned kitchen stations (grill, sauté, prep, etc.).
• Ensure timely and accurate food preparation during breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines.
• Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning.
• Monitor food quality and report any issues to kitchen leadership.
• Help with inventory control and proper storage of ingredients.
• Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Line Cook at Mountain Lake Lodge is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven kitchen. This role supports the lodge’s dining operations by ensuring consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes, while contributing to a positive guest experience in a scenic resort setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in hospitality, resort, or high-volume kitchens
