Job description

Seeking full-time line cook for Sag Harbor Tavern, a restaurant by the team from the critically acclaimed restaurant in Red Hook Tavern in Brooklyn, NY. Candidates must have 2+ years of experience working in BOH Positions. Must be energetic, level headed, self-sufficient, and organized. Food Handlers Certification is recommended for line cooks.


Job Requirements:
  1. Support Chef with all menu prep and execution
  2. Assist in producing Family Meal
  3. Work well as part of a team in an often fast-paced environment
  4. Maintain a positive attitude and promote a respectful work environment
  5. Ensuring high food quality and thoughtful plating (as set by Chef)
  6. Ensure a clean and organized kitchen and prep space (including regular deep cleanings)
  7. Complete station inventories and checklists
  8. Demonstrate safe food handling procedures such as dating, labeling, and rotating
  9. Be able to safely operate and clean all kitchen equipment
  10. Ensure compliance with the local health department and other regulations
  11. Passion for food and flavor, commitment to cleanliness, and professionalism
  12. Strong multitasking skills and problem-solving abilities (understanding that things will go wrong in this industry!)
  13. Strong knife skills
  14. Punctual and reliable
  15. Strong references
