Line Cook - Part-Time - Union Power Plant

Position Summary

The Line Cook prepares foods to be served to guests, often in direct contact with the public, such as taking or calling out orders. The role involves cooking breakfast and lunch on a flat-top grill and fryer.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, fresh food promptly to guests.
• Prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning standards.
• Work as part of a team to ensure excellent service and product delivery.
• Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards.
• Test foods for proper cooking.
• Portion, garnish, and arrange food plates for delivery.
• Consult with senior kitchen staff on menu planning and food estimation.
• Maintain excellent attendance standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook or prep cook.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, ovens, mixers, slicers, fryers, and grills.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Valid food handling certification as required by regulations; ServSafe preferred.
