Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Since 2003, it has expanded across iconic NYC neighborhoods with brands like Sant Ambroeus, Casa Lever, and Felice, operating 24 locations in Manhattan, Southampton, East Hampton, Aspen, Milan, and Palm Beach.

Position Purpose

This person is responsible for prepping food and plating dishes following menu specifications and chef’s directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary practices.
  • Turn or stir foods for even cooking.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes and experience.
  • Test foods for doneness using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods.
  • Portion, arrange, garnish, and serve food.
  • Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables for consumption.
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or procure supplies.
  • Carve and trim meats for service or sandwiches.
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism with all staff.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with personal cleanliness and uniform maintenance.
  • Basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills.
  • Time management skills to handle high-volume production under pressure.
  • Active listening and learning skills.
  • Effective communication in English for safety and teamwork.
  • Reading and speaking comprehension skills.
  • Discipline to follow standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
