Summary of Position:

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products. Prepare and portion food prior to cooking, and handle final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing garnishes for hot menu items.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items using various kitchen equipment
  • Ensure the quality of all products served
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and policies
  • Maintain sufficient food stock at line stations for smooth service
  • Portion, season, and marinate food items prior to cooking
  • Maintain cleanliness of work stations and equipment
  • Prepare items for different cooking methods and ensure proper presentation and garnishing
  • Handle, store, and rotate products properly
  • Assist in food prep during off-peak times
  • Close the kitchen following procedures and assist in closing tasks
  • Attend meetings and contribute suggestions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen preparation and cooking experience
  • At least 6 months in a similar role
  • Good communication skills with team members and management
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work standing for long periods
