Summary of Position:

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products. Prepare and portion food prior to cooking, and perform duties related to food and final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing, and preparing garnishes for hot menu items.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using various kitchen equipment
  • Ensure the quality of products served
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
  • Maintain sufficient food levels at line stations for smooth service
  • Portion, season, and marinate food items prior to cooking
  • Keep work stations clean and sanitary
  • Prepare items for different cooking methods and follow plate presentation standards
  • Handle, store, and rotate products properly
  • Assist in food prep during off-peak periods
  • Close the kitchen following procedures and assist in closing tasks
  • Attend employee meetings and contribute suggestions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar role
  • Clear communication skills with team members and management
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work standing for long hours
