Summary of Position:

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products, as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Perform other duties in food and final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing, and preparing appropriate garnishes for hot menu items.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure the quality of products served, taking 100% responsibility.
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies.
  • Maintain sufficient food stock at line stations for smooth service.
  • Portion, season, and marinate food prior to cooking, label, and rotate properly.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station, including all kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare items for various cooking methods and follow proper plate presentation and garnishing.
  • Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
  • Assist in food prep during off-peak times and close the kitchen following procedures.
  • Attend employee meetings and suggest improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or MOD.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen preparation and cooking experience.
  • At least 6 months in a similar role.
  • Clear communication skills with managers and staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work standing for long periods.
