Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head is currently looking for a Line Cook to join our team!
Purpose: The Line Cook assists the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with the overall dining program and execution of culinary experiences, including daily restaurant operations, catering, and special events. The role involves maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and training coworkers as needed.
This position requires good judgment and problem-solving skills, supporting an exceptional dining experience. The Cook ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and embodies the Latitude Margaritaville Lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Kitchen:
- Interact successfully with residents and team members.
- Stay current with industry practices aligned with the Margaritaville Brand.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver vibrant menu items.
- Be hands-on and flexible in kitchen roles.
- Follow safety procedures and meet health standards.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Have basic cooking skills: braising, sautéing, roasting, grilling, recipes, ratios, portion control, etc.
- Possess basic knife skills and knowledge of proper use.
Daily Operations and Customer Experience:
- Participate in catering and food service functions.
- Assist in prep and kitchen setup.
- Maintain high energy and passion during service.
- Manage inventory and production efficiently.
- Create a positive environment reflecting the Margaritaville Lifestyle.
- Comply with all regulations.
- Work in various service formats (a la carte, buffet, etc.).
- Keep the kitchen spotless and maintain hygiene standards.
Technical Competencies:
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- ServSafe certification required.
Experience:
- 1-3 years in a similar role.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, resorts, or clubs.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Willing to work nights and weekends.
- Stay updated on culinary trends.
- Follow instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Team player with independence when needed.

Food Handling/Sanitation:
- Knowledge of sanitation and health regulations.
- Understand time & temperature controls, cooling, reheating.
- Practice proper hygiene and clean-as-you-go.
- Work clean and organized, with knowledge of equipment and chemicals (MSDS).
- Obtain Serve Safe Food Handlers certification within 90 days.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50+ pounds.
- Kneel, stoop, twist, bend, stand for long periods.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely.
Compensation/Work Schedule:
- $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
- Full-Time (30+ hours weekly)
- Weekend & holiday availability required
- Open availability
