Summary of Position
Accurately and efficiently cook food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of food items utilizing flat top grills, char-broiler, cook top, waffle baker, Panini press, and fryer.
- Assume responsibility for the quality of products prepared and served.
- Know and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station, including all cooking and refrigeration equipment.
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
- Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
- Open and close the kitchen properly, following the closing checklist, and assist others in closing.
- Assist in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Effective communication skills in the predominant language(s) of guests.
- Exceptional grooming habits.
Requirements
- Availability from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm every day, including holidays (closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas).
- Full-time applicants must consider Keke's as their primary employment.
- Dress code: black chef pants or dark jeans with a black belt and black non-slip shoes on the first day.
