Turtleback Mountain Golf and Resort, located in Elephant Butte, NM, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part‑Time Line Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality‑focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose

Prepares food products for restaurant and banquet operations to ensure quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction.

Schedule

Nights and weekends are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares sufficient quantities of food in accordance with production plans or forecasted needs.
  • Utilizes whole food products while minimizing waste.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
  • Alerts chef or supervisor of equipment issues, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner.
  • Requisitions inventory and receives supplies as needed for daily production.
  • Ensures proper storage of food items, including wrapping, dating, and rotating products.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

Minimum 1 Year Experience In The Kitchen.

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands
  • Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells.
  • Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms; occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
  • Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment / Noise
  • Regularly works in extreme heat (non‑weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally works in extreme cold (non‑weather), wet or humid conditions (non‑weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoors.
  • Noise level is moderate.
Certificates / Licenses

Food Safety and Sanitation Training.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties (e.g., communicating with English‑speaking customers or co‑workers; equipment manuals are in English).
