FIDELITY HOTEL is hiring for a LINE COOK

Fidelity Hotel is an adaptive reuse project located at 1940 E. 6th Street in the historic 103-year-old Baker Building. Fidelity Hotel has 97 guest rooms & suites, each with tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and thoughtfully curated art. The property features a full-service restaurant, bar, event & meeting spaces, and a private dining room. Fidelity Hotel is an homage to Cleveland’s long-standing ideals. What you'll do:
  1. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
  2. Prepare, season, and cook dishes promptly and consistently, adhering to the outlet’s recipes and procedures.
  3. See to each guest’s special needs, including any noted allergies or dietary restrictions.
  4. Ensure the cleanliness and proper sanitization of work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
  5. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  6. Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
  7. Assist in the restocking and replenishing of supplies.
  8. Observe and test food to determine if it has been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, temperature checks, or piercing them with utensils.
  9. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  10. Portion, arrange, and garnish food.
  11. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  12. Estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage as directed.
Who you are:
  • You have state-issued food handling certification as required.
  • You have related experience in the culinary or hospitality industry preferred.
  • You must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • You are able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • You are able to speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
  • You are able to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
