Job summary

Onni is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our Chicago kitchen team. You will prepare ingredients, cook dishes to recipes, and ensure high quality and consistent presentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including Line Cook or Prep Cook roles.
• Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
• Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Ensure food comes out high quality and on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized station throughout shift.
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Assist with cleaning and closing duties at end of service.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role
• Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one)
• Language Skills
• Experience as a line cook in a similar environment preferred
• High School Diploma or GED

Salary Range

$23.00 -$26.50/hour
