Job summary

Onni Group of Companies in Chicago is seeking a courteous Host to greet guests, seat the dining room, and help with restaurant service. You will establish rapport and assist with service while processing payments accurately.

Responsibilities include answering calls, managing reservations with OpenTable, cash handling, ringing orders through the POS, and maintaining guest relations. The position offers a $20 per hour wage under a benefits‑rich environment in North America offices including

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Restaurant experience preferred.
• Ability to handle reservations and guest records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Manage reservations to seat the dining room effectively.
• Maintain accurate guest records and notes in OpenTable.
• Process guest checks accurately using the POS system.
• Ensure positive guest relations and teamwork with management.

The Host maintains an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by greeting arriving customers, seating, establishing rapport and assisting with restaurant service. Receives and accurately processes payment for restaurant charges.

What Will You Do?

• Answer incoming calls in a prompt and professional manner.
• Manage reservations to effectively seat entire dining room.
• Maintain complete and accurate guest records and reservation notes through OpenTable.
• Cash handling, including correctly and precisely processing each guest check.
• Properly ring guest orders through the POS system as needed.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Work with a spirit of teamwork. Communicate needs and ideas to management.
• Knowledgeable in the menu and times of operation.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
• Understand mechanics of service and arrange tables for large parties.
• Ensures there are plenty of menus for service period.
• Warmly greet, acknowledge and seat guests.
