Job summary

Onni Group of Companies is seeking a kitchen/prep team member in Seattle to prepare and portion ingredients, label and store food, and support cooks and chefs with daily tasks. You will maintain clean prep stations and follow food safety guidelines while working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Ideal candidates have kitchen or prep experience, a basic understanding of food safety, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or prep experience required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and knife handling.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on your feet for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one).
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients (chopping vegetables, cutting meats, making sauces, etc.).
• Label, date, and store food properly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Assist cooks and chefs with daily prep tasks and mise en place.
• Keep prep stations clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Support with closing and cleaning duties as needed.
• May be asked to take out trash and recycling as needed.
• May be asked to assist in sweeping and mopping the floors as needed.
