Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2–5 person crew in Kittanning, PA. CDL preferred and training provided for company standards and safety.

Responsibilities include pruning, removal, site planning, and equipment operation, with mentorship of newer crew members. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement within Davey’s utility line clearance division.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Customer-focused and safety-conscious with utility work familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops, remove damaged sections, and clear around utility lines.
• Inspect work sites, plan tasks, and operate tools and equipment safely.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson, CDL preferred, joining a team working in/around Kittanning, PA.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

What We're Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
