Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to service the Northwestern Ohio region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

The role involves climbing and pruning trees to protect electric utilities, with CDL preference and handling of chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. You will work as part of a crew, adhering to safety standards and industry practices to ensure reliable service for major utility providers.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CDL class A or B with air brake endorsement preferred.
• Line clearance/utility tree work experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune, trim, and remove trees to protect utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Perform tree identification and follow pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and related equipment.
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground crew.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
