Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Foreman to lead a 2-5 person crew in Northwestern Ohio, from Findlay to Bowling Green, performing pruning and removal work for major electric utilities.

You will mentor crew members, ensure safety, operate tools and equipment, and maintain job sites. A valid driver's license is required; CDL and/or climbing experience preferred. Full-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Requires valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Requires: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with planning and safe execution of tasks.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal


• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects


• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines


• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks


• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.


• Mentor and train new employees

• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
