Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2-5 person crew in Kinsman, OH. The role involves pruning, removal, and utility-line clearance with safety as a priority. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred.

• Outdoor-oriented, able to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Must complete hiring orientations and safety courses on hire.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
• Line clearance experience or related tree work is required
• Pesticide licenses and related credentials are a plus
• ISA/TCIA certifications are desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning/removal for utilities.
• Trim tops, remove damaged limbs, and clear branches from lines and structures.
• Inspect job sites and plan tasks with safety in mind.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and related tools.
• Mentor and train new employees

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL holder, joining our team servicing the Kinsman, OH region.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
