Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2-5 person crew across the Greater Akron, Ohio region. The role emphasizes safety and expertise in pruning and removal for electric utilities.

Requirements include a valid driver's license with preferred CDL Class A/B and/or climbing experience. Prior line clearance or related tree work is required, with certifications such as ISA or TCIA considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Love of outdoors and willingness to learn orientation program upon hire.
• Must be able to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certifications if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist/Tree Worker and/or TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities, focusing on safety and skill.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines per industry standards.
• Plan and inspect job sites; ensure proper tool/equipment preparation and operation.
• Mentor and train new employees.
