Job summary

Winnebago Industries in Middlebury, IN is seeking a Line Buyer to support the Purchasing Agent by ensuring timely resolution of issues and entering supplier requirements. The role acts as a gatekeeper to free the agent for higher-priority items.

You will review reports, interact with vendors, run daily/weekly data, assist with MRP, manage cycle counts, and help with inventory control and quarterly processes in a production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook email).
• Broad knowledge of RV products and components is required.
• Analytical and strong communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly report and reorder any items/parts as needed pertaining to cycle counts.
• Collaborate with vendors for items of coverage and quality issues.
• Run daily reports to help communicate with suppliers on the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
• Assist Purchasing Agent with MRP parts when needed (expedite part shortages for items of coverage on cycle counts).
• Review Purchasing Agents' MRP purchase orders.
• Work closely with Inventory Control to manage obsolete materials for items of coverage
• First line of defense for Purchasing Agent – Contacting vendors with issues
• Place “Hot Orders” at the request of the Purchasing Agent
• Track and report on daily offline reports and prepare weekly data graphs for the Plant Manager.
• Prepare the weekly Working Capital Report.
• Address invoice issues with the accounting department for items of coverage.
• Manage vendor cycle counts, personal cycle counts, and order confirmation.
• Complete a daily shortage walk to monitor in-house inventory movement.
• Review PCN and TDs for items on cycle counts to determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs.
• Answer any radio calls from receivers and lines.
• Review Purchasing Agents orders to confirm completion.
• Assist in quarterly inventory processes.
• Run track reports for the receivers.
