Job summary

The University of California, Davis invites applications for a LIMS System Specialist in Davis. Under supervision, you will assist in managing patient records and data for public health laboratory testing, focusing on LIMS, electronic forms, and related websites.

You will design, configure, and implement software applications to expand LIMS capabilities, support ETOR and ELR reporting, and collaborate with IT and CLS leadership to improve data quality and interoperability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science or life sciences with IT training/experience.
• 1–3 years experience managing and coordinating application development efforts.
• 1–3 years experience troubleshooting application performance issues for users.
• 1–3 years experience in communication, marketing, public relations or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in data architecture, modeling, design, data management, data security and system integration.
• Experience installing, configuring hardware and troubleshooting software.
• Ability to prepare data models and familiarity with data mapping/conversion.
• Experience with SDLC and IT system development processes.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for diverse groups.

• Data Quality Assurance, Compliance & Maintenance of Laboratory Information System.
• Cal-LIMS/E-LIMS Coordination and Business Analysis.
• System Administration, Technical Support & Training.
• Vendor and Customer Coordination and Relations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science; or Bachelor's degree in life sciences with training and experience in Information Technology, or equivalent experience
