Job summary

NHE, Inc. is seeking a Community Manager for its Affordable Management unit in Beaufort, SC. You will manage fiscal accountability, marketing, regulatory compliance, and on-site staff for LIHTC or Section 8 properties. This role requires flexibility to work weekends/holidays and strong coordination with property owners and regulators.

The position emphasizes supervising staff, handling leasing activities, and ensuring regulatory adherence across HUD, LIHTC, HOME, and related programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or two years in apartment management with customer service and leasing experience.
• Training or experience in basic computer use (Word/Excel) and Yardi Voyager.
• Knowledge of HUD/LIHTC programs or affordable housing operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee move-ins/outs, recertifications, and interims per HUD and NHE guidelines.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with LIHTC, HUD, HOME, and related programs.
• Supervise onsite staff, recruit, train, and evaluate performance.
• Oversee leasing, marketing, and accounts receivable to meet property goals.
• Coordinate with owners and regulatory agencies and ensure safety and accessibility.
