Job summary

EwingCole seeks a Lighting Designer 1 to join our Philadelphia or Wayne office. You will support senior designers on design and documentation, developing lighting concepts and calculations while producing coordinated drawings for all project phases.

Responsibilities include creating lighting layouts, selecting fixtures, and shaping lighting control ideas, while adhering to codes, standards, and sustainability goals. This entry-level role offers growth in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or Theater (required/preferred).
• E.I.T. or Lighting Certification (LC)Intern encouraged.
• EwingCole utilizes Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and the Microsoft Suite to deliver projects.

Responsibilities

• Composes and notates production documentation including lighting plans, details, and coordinated drawing sets.
• Applies knowledge to develop lighting concepts and perform calculations.
• Supports the project team in documentation across all phases.
• Coordinates with project teams and references codes and company standards.
• Develops lighting layouts, fixture selections, and lighting control concepts.
• Gains exposure to specification editing and submittal reviews.
