Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to ensure wheeled equipment is road-ready. You will supervise and perform maintenance, repair, testing, and replacement of systems and components in the field or shop, with focus on electrical wiring harness and charging systems.

You will gain hands-on skills through training, with paid enlistment benefits, and opportunities to learn through Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems
