Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop. You will inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, adjust, and replace systems and components, including electrical wiring and charging systems, with opportunities for civilian career paths after training.

Training lasts 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks AIT; you will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems
