Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to ensure wheeled systems are ready for service. You will supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.

Duties include inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, testing, and replacing components; servicing electrical systems, wiring harness, and charging systems. Training leads to civilian career options while you earn a regular paycheck.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
• Requires military enlistment and eligibility for Army National Guard service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles and related trailers and equipment.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, starting and charging systems.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, and replace vehicle systems and components; perform recovery operations.
