Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop, ensuring readiness and reliability. You will inspect, service, repair, and test systems, including electrical wiring harness and charging, with a focus on safe, efficient operation and timely recovery missions.

This role offers paid training, a regular paycheck, and tuition assistance through the Montgomery GI Bill.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems
