OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a skilled automotive maintenance technician to help keep mining equipment operational. You will inspect, test, and service light vehicles used across our sites, ensuring reliability and safety in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience within an automotive dealership setting.
• 5+ years maintenance experience with light vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Previous experience in an auto mechanic role would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment available by inspecting and testing vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
• Repair engine failures and mechanical/electrical system malfunctions; replace parts and components.
• Maintain vehicle service records by recording service and repairs.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns and maintaining supplies.

Job Description

• This position aims to keepequipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacingfilters.
• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing bodydamage.
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls andsystems.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service andrepairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling forrepairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and partsoptions.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results asneeded.

Qualifications

• Appropriate Tertiary Trade qualifications and 2 years' experience within an Automotive dealershipsetting.
• 5 years plus maintenance experience with Light Vehicle Maintenance preferred.
• Previous experience in an Auto Mechanics role would be advantageous.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in both office and operational mining environments.
• Ability to regularly access active mining and processing areas to support operational teams, conduct site visits, investigations, coaching, and workforce engagementactivities.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and access elevated work areas asrequired.
• Ability to wear and use mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).
