Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Light Maintenance/Housekeeping team member in the Syracuse/Albany region. The role runs full time from 7:00am to 3:00pm with alternating weekends, and pays $17.00–$18.00 per hour based on experience.

The position includes benefits such as holidays, health plans, retirement match, and flexible scheduling. Candidates should have a year of related experience and be able to operate standard cleaning equipment in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a similar environment such as a senior living community, nursing home or healthcare field preferred.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment including iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, and vacuums and have an understanding of cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public areas and residents' apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas according to schedule.
• Perform housekeeping duties following a cleaning schedule and supervisor instructions.
• Clean and polish room furnishings and fixtures in resident rooms and public areas.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding residents’ rights.

Schedule:

Light Maintenance/Housekeeping Responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Cleans public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas
• Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas
• Performs all housekeeping duties, following a cleaning schedule and instructions as directed by supervisor
• Clean and/or polish all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges, heating/air conditioning units in resident rooms and all public areas
