Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living in Syracuse, NY is seeking an energetic Light Maintenance/Housekeeping team member for a full-time 7:00am–3:00pm shift with alternating weekends. You will clean public areas and resident apartments, follow schedules, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

Previous experience in a senior living, nursing home, or healthcare setting is preferred. You should be able to operate cleaning equipment and read directions; the role offers paid holidays,

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a similar environment such as a senior living community, nursing home or healthcare field preferred.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment including iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, and vacuums; understand cleaning chemicals and products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding residents’ rights.
• Cleans public areas and resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas.
• Perform all housekeeping duties according to a cleaning schedule and supervisor instructions.
• Clean and/or polish room furnishings and fixtures in resident rooms and public areas.

We are currently seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual for Light Maintenance/Housekeeping to join our team of professionals!

Schedule:

Full Time (7:00am - 3:00pm) with alternating weekends

Salary:

$17.00 - 18.00 per hour – based on experience

Light Maintenance/Housekeeping Responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Cleans public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas
• Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas
• Performs all housekeeping duties, following a cleaning schedule and instructions as directed by supervisor
• Clean and/or polish all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges, heating/air conditioning units in resident rooms and all public areas

Light Maintenance/Housekeeping Education & Experience:

• One year experience in a similar environment such as a senior living community, nursing home or any healthcare field preferred
• Able to operate cleaning equipment including iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, and vacuums and have an understanding on cleaning chemicals and products required
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job required
