Job summary

Stone Construction is seeking a skilled Light Equipment Operator for projects in the Greater Baton Rouge to New Orleans areas. The role requires operating light equipment (loaders, skid steers, water trucks) and performing general labor with a focus on safety and teamwork.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of experience with light-duty machinery, understand site elevations, and be prepared to be trained in establishing and maintaining grade.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating light-duty equipment (front-end loaders, skid steers, water trucks, rollers).
• Basic understanding of site elevations and ability to be trained in establishing/maintaining grade.
• Performs general labor duties as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders, skid steers, and related equipment to move loads of borrow or aggregate.
• Spread and level dirt and gravel with light-duty equipment.
• Operate water trucks, rollers, and compactors to achieve specified compaction.
• Work across commercial site development and utilities installation projects.
• Participate in scopes like mass excavation, grading, and stockpiling materials.
• Perform daily inspections and light maintenance on equipment.
