Job summary

Stone Construction is seeking a skilled Light Equipment Operator with at least 1 year of experience handling light-duty equipment including loaders, skid steers, water trucks, tractors, and rollers. You will work across diverse sites in the Greater Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas, supporting grading and site prep activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders, rubber-tired backhoes, and ADTs to receive and dump loads.
• Spread and level dirt and gravel with skid steers and similar equipment.
• Operate water trucks, rollers, and compactors for specified compaction.
• Work on various construction settings and scopes of work.
• Conduct daily inspections and minor maintenance on equipment.
• Perform pre- and post-inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
• Complete assignments as directed and adapt to site responsibilities.
• Collaborate with team members and maintain a safety-focused, clean job site.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report issues to foreman or safety manager.
