Light Duty Mechanic – Leesburg, VA
Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Light Duty Mechanic to support our fleet operations. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay: $24.00 – $35.00 per hour, plus $0.10 per hour for each ASE certification
- Vacation: minimum 2 weeks
- Sick days: 5 days per year
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections
- Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
- Complete work orders accurately and on schedule
- Provide mobile emergency services as required
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license; willingness to obtain a CDL while employed
- At least 1 year of automotive maintenance and repair experience or technical school education
- Mechanic’s tool set
- Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; training and bonuses provided
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; compliance with 49 CFR Part 40
Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions; 100% of work performed outdoors
- Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day) and walk long distances on uneven surfaces
- Lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; push and pull objects during the workday
- Tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise, and endure heavy traffic areas
