Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Lift Truck Operator on a 12-hour rotating night shift. You will move materials, track locations, and perform routine equipment checks in a manufacturing setting.

You must pass vision tests, be able to operate a lift truck after training, lift up to 50 pounds, and withstand temperature changes. This role includes safety-compliant duties and potential cross-training for other LTO tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading, writing, and math.
• Must pass color blindness and vision test.
• Must be familiar with current computer systems and software.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
• Must be able to mount and dismount lift truck up to 100 times a day.
• Must have adequate depth perception.
• Must be able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit for 12 hours a day.
• Must complete yearly LTO recertification program.
• Must comply with OSHA, SAFE, and plant safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Moving materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.
• Recording storage locations on the IPT next to appropriate product numbers.
• Daily completion of lift truck check sheets.
• Remove, collect and dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.
• Strap and package finished goods and WIP as needed.
• Operate floor sweeper when needed.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Change lift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.
• Assist in keeping the entire facility clean.
• Perform duties of other LTOs when necessary.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work space.
• Operate baler in recycling of raw materials.
• Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.
