The hiring pay rate for this position is $21.10/hr. Under the general supervision of the Senior Lift Station Mechanic or designee, performs manual labor and skilled work related to the maintenance and repair of the City’s water and wastewater transmission systems in the Water/Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department. Responsible for equipment and supplies needed for daily operations and maintenance. Duties are performed independently, and the employee must be on-call for emergencies. Work is reviewed through observations and results.
High school diploma or GED; one year experience in maintenance and repair of motors and equipment at the journeyman level in a water/wastewater environment; or equivalent training and experience. Must possess a Level Three (3) Distribution System Operator’s License issued by Florida, or obtain within 18 months. A Wastewater Collection System “C” Operator’s License issued by Florida is required or must be obtained within 18 months. Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is preferred; if not available at hire, a CDL permit must be obtained within 6 months, with full endorsement within 18 months. Extended probation applies if CDL is not valid at hire.
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction), hearing (with or without hearing aid), as well as frequent reaching, bending, lifting, use of fingers and hands, sitting, standing, walking, and climbing.
